At HouseMinders we understand that initially you may feel a little uncomfortable handing over your home and pets to a complete stranger. Many of our clients will often feel this way on their first booking of our pet sitting services and that is why we spend time talking to you personally prior to booking so that we really understand your needs and the requirements of your pets.

We pride ourselves in selecting house sitters suitable and experienced to your requirements (the amount of repeat business we receive from long term clients is testimony to this); if we feel we don’t have suitable people available for your dates, we will tell you and decline the booking. This is why it is imperative that we are given sufficient notice, particularly for first bookings, so we may offer the best possible pet and house sitting service without having to compromise due to short timescales. However, whatever the notice, we will do our utmost to be of service.

Our pet sitters and house sitting employees, mainly couples, are usually of retirement age from various professional backgrounds. They all, without exception, undergo an exhaustive “vetting” process prior to becoming employees (we are not an agency); we have no hesitation in rejecting any applicants who do not fully meet our high standards

Whilst on a booking, our house sitters operate under strict guidelines
(see “Become a Houseminder”) to ensure a clear understanding of how the assignment must be undertaken to protect the interests of both the sitter and our client. We carefully monitor our employees’ performance and activities whilst on a booking to ensure our excellent reputation is maintained. Our house sitters can rely on 24-hour support in the event of an emergency.

Our employees are fully insured for public liability and employers liability to protect both the client and our employees and to complement the client’s own insurance. All our house sitters and pet sitters are contracted to remain in your home until your return, even in the event of a delay.
